Thomas H. Shartzer Jr., 65, of Hetrick Road, Beavertown, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born March 28, 1952, in Lewistown, a son of Gladys (McCardle) and Stanton Wagner, of McClure and the late Thomas H. Shartzer Sr. On Dec. 12, 1997, he married Kelly C. (Shambach) Shartzer who survives.
Tom was a 1970 graduate of West Snyder High School.
He worked in the tool and die shop at Lozier in McClure from 1970 up until his retirement in March 2017.
He was a member of A.B.A.T.E and the American Legion Post 942, McClure. He served as president of Shade Mountain Hunting Camp, McClure, for numerous years.
Tom was an avid NASCAR fan where he followed Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. He enjoyed traveling to NASCAR events and going on cruise's with his wife, Kelly. He also enjoyed annual fishing trips to Canada, taking care of his fish pond, spoiling his three Yorkies, Kya, Piper, and Bella, eating at Texas Roadhouse, and the moments he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Karen Hoffman and companion Scott Leister; one son, Thomas Shartzer III and fiancé Michelle Keiser; daughter, Bobbi Jo, and husband Mike Wolfley; stepson, Chad Erb; stepdaughter, Tegan and husband Jamie Kotarski; seven grandchildren, Nam, Colby, Blayz, Hunter, Easton, Caden and Ryker; one brother, Ray Kline; four sisters, Cindy Lash, Deb Shartzer, Dawn Hopple, and Vic Shartzer; two stepbrothers, Steve Wagner and Wes Wagner; one stepsister, Kathy Hansen Nord; and his mother and father-in-law, Ronald and Donna Shambach.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, followed by a memorial service at 7, with Pastor Dan Sellers of West End Grace Church officiating.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Shade Mountain Hunting Camp.
