Terry J. "Griz" Aurand Sr., 60, of Market Street, Sunbury, passed away Feb. 21, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 25, 1957, in Sunbury, a son of the late Henry Melvin "Chick" and Margaret Elizabeth (Bucher) Aurand.
Terry was a 1977 graduate of Shikellamy High School and Sun Vo Tech in welding.
He served in US Army 28th Infantry.
He was employed at various valley companies; lastly at SunCom as assistant plant supervisor until his disability.
Terry was a life member of the Sunbury Steam Fire Company No. 1, a member of the Sunbury Eagles, a devoted Dale Earnhardt NASCAR fan, a Steelers fan, and he loved superheroes with his beloved grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Anna M. (Simpson) Aurand; son Terry J. Aurand Jr. and wife Chelsey of Sunbury; grandsons Benjamin and Jacob Aurand at home;
sisters, Margaret Straub, of Northumberland and Peggy Sommers of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Oscar R. Aurand.
A memorial service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at "the 1's" Sunbury Steam Fire Company No. 1, South Center and Penn streets, Sunbury. Arrangements are by the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury.
