Stanley R. "Stan" Specht, 70, of Middleburg, entered into rest on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at his home.
Stanley was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Montour County, the son of the late Frank and Sallie (Hendricks) Specht. He was the husband of Karen (Swineford) Specht. The couple were married for 52 years.
He retired in 2012 after 37 years from Spring Township.
Stanley enjoyed attending flea markets and spending time in the outdoors and doing yard work.
In addition to his wife, Stanley is survived by two daughters, Pamela Knepp and her husband David, of Beaver Springs and Brenda Lizardi and her companion Steve Cook, of Wilkes Barre; three grandchildren, Adam Knepp and his companion Megan, Heather Knepp and her companion Matt, and Cody Cook; one great-grandson, Hunter Burrows; an aunt, Beatrice Kratzer; one cousin Leona Arnold; and his mother-in-law, Esther Swineford, of Shamokin Dam.
Stanley was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Swineford; an uncle, Lester Kratzer; and cousins, Dennis Kratzer and Sandra Litz.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills. Officiating will be Bruce Wilkins, spiritual counselor, Celtic Hospice.
Burial will be in Globe Mills Cemetery, Middleburg.
Memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Stanley to the funeral home to help defray the funeral expenses.
