Shirley M. Loss, 75, of Hetrick Road, Beavertown, passed away on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
She was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Franklin Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Merrill and Faye E. (Bolig) Bickhart. Following the death of her mother she was raised by her grandparents, James and Stella Bolig. On Dec. 24, 1987, she married Larry L. Loss who survives.
Shirley had been employed at the Saylor Shirt Factory, Beavertown, Kinney Shoe, Beaver Springs, and the Beavertown Silk Mill.
She enjoyed attending yard sales, public sales, and loved cats and dogs.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Tom Thoman and companion, Carol Wickard; three stepdaughters and their spouses, Cheryl and Scott Brouse, Carol and Steve Kenepp, Crystal and Roger Adams; four stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dave Runkle; one sister-in-law, Victoria Bickhart; two nephews; and her very close friend, Hilma "Pickle" Rigel.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Bickhart; and her former husband, Brufene Thoman Sr.
Services will be private with the Rev. Kathy Mercado officiating.
Burial will be held later in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown.
Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
