Shirley M. Elliott, 80, of Watsontown, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville.
She was born March 28, 1937, in Picture Rocks, a daughter of the late Harry L. and Hazel C. (Boyles) Ketchum. On Nov. 10, 1956, she married Marvin G. Elliott and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage until his passing on July 17, 2017.
Shirley was a 1956 graduate of Loyalsock High School.
She worked for 26 years at the Warrior Run Middle School cafeteria.
Shirley was a lifelong Methodist faith believer, and most recently attended Friendship Baptist Church.
She enjoyed swimming, collecting and going to auctions. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and her dog, Belva. Shirley loved her dolls but most of all loved taking care of her family.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Elliott and his partner Ricardo Dalby, of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters: Deborah Elliott and Stacy Elliott, both of Watsontown; one brother, Larry H. Ketchum, of Montoursville; one sister, Betty Hayward, of Watsontown; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susie J. Ketchum.
Friends and family are invited to call from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown, followed by the funeral at 3, with the Rev. Ryan Krauss, of Watsontown United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.
