Sheila Murn Kahler, 83, died and entered the gates of Heaven on Feb. 3, 2018. She passed away peacefully in her Northumberland home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Ralpho Township, a daughter of the late Claude and Dorothy (Penwell) Raup. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Kahler, the love of her life, who she married on Nov. 29, 1974.
She is survived by her children, Joyce (Mike) Robel, of Shamokin, Janice Mottern of Northumberland, Jill (Michael) Pope of Northumberland, John (Tina) Kahler of Wilmington, N.C., JoAnn (Scott) Wilson of New Braunfels, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister Marie (David) Cook of Snydertown; one brother, Charles (Diana) Raup of Drums; 27 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and 7 great-great-nieces and nephews.
After 35 years of service at the State Health Department, she spent her time painting, crafting and was an active member and volunteer of her church.
She loved reading, camping, fishing, watching westerns, and Elvis. Most of all, she loved her family and the Lord.
A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Interment will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
