Sarah Bella Shoemaker, 10, of Bucks Valley Road, Newport,was taken into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Oma's Family Campground in Kirkwood.
Sarah Bella was born Oct. 16, 2006. in Hershey, a daughter of Pene' (Parker) and Steve Shoemaker.
She was a 4th grade student at Newport Elementary School and attended God's Missionary Church of Newport.Sarah Bella will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her vivacious spirit. She was a great athlete and excelled at everything she did. She played field hockey for the Newport Youth Field Hockey program, softball for the Newport Youth Softball League, and she cheered for PA Extreme. Sarah Bella also greatly enjoyed horses, swimming, roller blading, 4-wheeler rides, fishing and shooting.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers, Darren R. Shoemaker, who is stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wy., Matthew S. Shoemaker, of Newport and Sophia Rose Shoemaker, of Newport; her paternal grandmother, Irma Shoemaker, of Honeybrook; her great-aunt, Brenda Riley, of Manahawkin, N.J.; her uncle and aunt, Ron and Andrea Parker, of Honeybrook, cousins, John, Jocelyn, Lauryn Elizabeth and Emily; uncle; Eric Shoemaker, of Glen Moore, and cousins Jake and Jill.
Sarah Bella was loved and will be greatly missed by her many friends as well.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert Shoemaker; her maternal grandmother, Polly Winkelman; maternal grandfather, Ronald Parker; and great-uncle, Kevin Riley.
Friends and family may visit for a celebration of life from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Family Life Center, 27 W Shortcut Road, Newport, where the memorial service will follow at 1, with her pastor, Philip Brenizer officiating. A balloon release will follow the service.
The family requests that those who wish to send flowers please send a spring perennial that can be planted in a memorial garden at their home. Anyone who wishes to send donations in Sarah Bella's memory may do so to the Caring Placing, 3 Walnut St., Suite 200, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
