Sandra A. Eppley

Events

Sandra A. "Sandy" Eppley, 73, of rural Middleburg, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, in the arms of her best friend, soulmate and husband, Fred.
She was born Feb. 19, 1945, in the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Della Rae (Sides) Shank of Middletown.

Sandy was a 1963 graduate of Middletown High School and earned a medical assistant degree from the Harrisburg School of Medical Arts in 1965. She eloped with Fred in November 1965 and moved to Snyder County, where she lived for the rest of her life.

Sandy was a stay-at-home mom and grandma. A longtime treasure hunter, whether with her trusty metal detector or by taking the occasional casino trip, her most cherished possession was her family. She was very proud of all four of her grandsons and her three children. She was an avid Mustang soccer fan and she attended as many games as she could to watch her grandsons play. Her grandson in Indiana provided cello music for her to enjoy and track and cross-country medals to cherish.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by her children, Hilary Eppley (David Murray), Ethan Eppley (Joann), and Sarah Paida (Scott); and four grandsons, Evan Eppley, Nicholas Eppley, Quinn Murray and Parker Eppley.

At her request, there will be no services. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice Care. We love you, Sandy. You will be missed.
