Samuel A Loretto Samuel A. "Sam" Loretto, 72, of Selinsgrove, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at the Williamsport Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Delaware County the son of the late Paul G. and Helen (Casperson) Loretto. He was married for 17 years to the former Darlene K. Roush who survives.

Sam graduated in 1965 from Media High School, Delaware County and served in the Army Reserves.
He was employed with Allied Chemical and BP Oil until their closing. He was owner and operator of the Empire Hotel, Freeburg for 12 years. Being last employed as a bus driver with the Selinsgrove School District.
Sam was an active member of the Free & Accepted Masons Lafayette Lodge 194 and a member of the Richfield Sportsmen Club.
Sam was an avid hunter but his best days were enjoyed on the golf course.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Christy M. (Brian) Kester and Michele L. (Tim) Nash; stepdaughter, Sonja L. (Troy) Kratzer; stepson Justin D. Shaffer.; and three grandchildren, Benjamin M. Kratzer, Declan J. Kester and Cole D. Shaffer.
He was preceded in death by one brother, G.Paul Loretto; and one sister, Mary D. Speed.

Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, with a Masonic service at 10:45, at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11, with Thomas Rubillo officiating.
Burial will be in Grubb's Cemetery, Port Trevorton.

Donations may be made in Sam's honor to Shriners Childrens Hopsital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 133607.

So many good memories of time spent with you in the campground along with many years of hunting together. We always looked forward to those delicious subs you brought along. They were the best and so were you. RIP Sam.
