Ruth E. Stump, 74, of Dornsife, passed away on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at Manor Care Health Services, Sunbury.
She was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Trevorton, a daughter of the late Guy M. and Fae O. (Heim) Dewalt.
Ruth lived most of her life in Dornsife. She attended Trevorton schools and attended God's Missionary Church Sunbury.
She was a homemaker.
Ruth is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Susan Stump, of Dornsife, Melissa and Wayne Gessner, of Dornsife, Crystal and Daniel Wengert, of Lykens, Diana and Scott Strohecker, of Spring Glen; nine grandchildren, Heidi Fultz and husband Ryan, Christian Stump, Nathaniel Gessner, Camilla Gessner, Ryan Strohecker, Benjamin Gessner, Quinten Gessner, Mandy Strohecker, Colby Strohecker; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ronald Yoder, of Trevorton; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Guy "Dave" Dewalt Jr., of Little Mahanoy Township and Raymond and Kim Dewalt, of Dornsife; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Dewalt; and one sister-in-law, Loretta Dewalt.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at God's Missionary Church, 820 Susquehanna Ave., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Keith Bunch officiating.
Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park Cemetery Stonington.
Funeral arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funera Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.
