Ruth Antoinette "Ann" Youmans Simmons, 90, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday morning, June 22, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years. S. Wayne Simmons and a two-year old son, David Wayne Simmons.

Ann graduated from Bergen School in Jersey City where she grew up, later attending and graduating from Vassar College and Katherine Gibbs of NYC.
She was a secretary in The Civil Engineering Department at Syracuse University while her husband finished his degree there. Later she wholeheartedly took on the job of being a wife and mother living in Delaware, and Easton before moving to Lewisburg in 1975.
Ann was known by all as radiating the love of the Savior she served. Any activity she undertook, whether it was helping an interdenominational summer Bible school, delivering Meals on Wheels, participating in regular prayer meetings and Bible studies, teaching Sunday school for years, or being a deacon at her church, she carried out with grace and sincerity of heart. Her friends, relatives, children and grandchildren remember her as the one you could always count on to help, ask for prayer, or lend a listening ear.
Ann was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church of Milton, and was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewisburg where she was a Deacon.
She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's events, gardening, reading, photography, collecting memorabilia, was a Den Mother and Girl Scout leader.

Ann is survived by three children and their spouses, JoAnn Halama, of Montandon, Margie and Chuck Harris, of Sinking Creek, Va., and Rod and Sallie Simmons, of Northumberland; 11 grandchildren, Melissa and Barry Troup, Autumn and Justin Dosch, Ben and Michelle Harris, Valerie and Dane Shelly, Bethany and John Lufi, Jill and Michael Sweigard, Meredith and Kyle Snyder, Beth Halama, Luke and Brenna Harris, Joanna and Ben Toal, Josh and Kaitlyn Simmons; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew Simmons, Benjamin Lufi, Will Harris, Adalie Simmons, Bryce Shelly, Evelyn Sweigard, Elliot Lufi, and Audriana Snyder.

Her life verse was Proverbs 3:5-6
5. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding
6. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight
A verse from her favorite Steve Green song, describes her purpose well "May the footprints we leave, Lead them to believe, And the lives we lead, Inspire them to obey." She fulfilled these verses in her life, had her priorities in order and a servant's heart. Her 90 years were definitely a life well-lived

Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Davis Chapel of Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton, followed by the funeral at 3, with grandsons-in-law, Pastor Michael Sweigard and the Rev. Justin Dosch officiating.
Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.

The family will provide flowers and asks that donations in Ann's memory be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
