Ruth E. Garrison, 96, of Railroad Avenue, Beaver Springs, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born June 7, 1921, in Springville, a daughter of the late Harold and Lillian (Button) Scott.
She graduated from Springville High class of 1939. Ruth worked in a hanger factory for several years before moving to Nicholson, with her family.
On April 20, 1946, she married Douglas Mack Garrison. Douglas was transferred to the Dairymens League Plant in Beaver Springs in 1949.
She was an avid bowler and she liked to play bingo.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting and all kinds of needlework.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, Harold Jr., Gerald and Carlyle; her husband, Douglas on Feb. 9, 2013; and her son, Scott Garrison.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Yvonne Garrison, of Mifflintown and Lawrence and Cindy Garrison, of Beaver Springs; one daughter, Kaylene Luse of Fort Myers, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Jane Garrison; nine grandchildren, Douglas Garrison, Deana Styer, Robyn Garrison, Nicole Weikel, Eric Garrison, Aaron Garrison, Jeannette Underhill, Laurie Myers and Jodi Garrison; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, where the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew D. Schuster officiating.
Burial will follow in Adamsburg Cemetery.
Ruth is happy with each and everyone of her family and she thinks that they are happy with their "Ma".
