Ruth B. Crabb, 96, of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, passed away at her home Wednesday morning, Dec. 20, 2017.
A native of Winfield, she was born Dec. 1, 1921, a daughter of the late Harry Russell and Fannie (Renn) Berge. She was married to Sherwood W. Crabb who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Lewisburg High School.
Ruth retired from Pennsylvania House Furniture.
She was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church where she played the organ for more than 60 years.
Ruth loved children and had been a housemother at Loysville orphanage. She enjoyed drawing.
Surviving is a stepdaughter, Lois Crabb Hackenberg, of Lewisburg; and a niece, Peggy Hassinger, of Middleburg.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Sherwood W. Crabb Jr.; one stepdaughter, June Crabb Packer; one sister, Olive Frederick; and two brothers, William and John Berge.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. John H. Shaw III officiating.
Burial will follow in Winfield Cemetery.
The family will provide flowers and asks that donations in Ruth's memory be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
