Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Miller Sr., 84, and Alice Irene (Matter) Miller, 82, of Liverpool, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at their home. The couple were married for 62 years.
Ronnie was born May 10, 1933, in Liverpool, a son of the late Albert and Esther (Lower) Miller.
He attended the Liverpool High School and enlisted in the Army serving in the Korean War.
Ronnie was formerly employed by Teats Construction and retired from Bethlehem Steel Company after 45 years.
He was a member and Past Commander of the Liverpool American Legion Post No. 364, Hunters Valley Sportsmen's Association, Newport Owls Club, and the Buffalo Lodge.
Ronnie loved his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and walking around town. He also enjoyed watching sports, reciting poetry, and telling stories.
He is survived by his son, Ronald Lee Miller Jr. and his partner Randy Flick, of Ickesburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, LuAnn Spade, of Liverpool and Carolyn I. and Jacob E. Sheaffer, of Liverpool; five grandchildren, Christine Magaro, Brooke Reichenbach and her husband Brent and their five children, Nicholas Spade and his wife Meggan and their three children, Logan Sheaffer, and Jacob Sheaffer; two sisters, Floranna Leach, of Liverpool and Nancy Willard, of Liverpool; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Lewis Miller Sr., of Millerstown, Richard and Jenny Miller, of Liverpool, and Dennis Miller, of Liverpool; four sisters-in-law, Frances Miller, Linda Miller, Ruth Miller, and Carsanna Buckley; one brother-in-law, Don Lower; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Randy Spade; four sisters, Sarah Reinard. Dorothy Leach, Geraldine Lower, and Marilyn Schrawder; and four brothers, John Miller, Fred Miller, Charles "Barry" Miller, and Gerald Miller.
A combined memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Christian Union Church, 5230 Route 104, Mount Pleasant Mills. Food and fellowship will follow the service in the Christian Life Center of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Ronnie to the Liverpool Fire Company, 309 N. Market St., Liverpool, PA 17045.
The George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
