Roger L. Shambach Roger L. Shambach, 68, of Middleburg went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday evening, Aug. 9, at his home.

He was born Feb. 9, 1950 in Lewisburg, a son of Harry E. and Romaine J. (Hackenberg) Shambach of Middleburg.

On June 29, 1974, he married Penny S. Sheaffer, who survives.

Roger was a 1968 graduate of Middleburg High School. On Dec. 3, 1968, he enlisted in the Army, serving until being honorably discharged on Dec. 2, 1970.

He was employed at Wood-Mode in Kreamer, for 38 years, with 18 years as the supervisor of the door department. Roger attended Beavertown God's Missionary Church, and was a member of the Snyder County Gideons Camp, participating in Bible distributions in Penn State and Pittsburgh, and serving as an usher for their Faith Fund Rallies. He was most proud of the three trips he made to South America, Guyana and Surinam with the Work and Witness Team from the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene.

Roger was an avid deer hunter.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and his wife of 44 years, are one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Scott Snyder of Richfield; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brandon Shambach of Maine, and Dustin and Christie Shambach of Virginia Beach, Va.; one grandson, Levi Snyder; one sister and brother-in-law, Arla and Joe Felker of Mifflinburg; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Crystal Shambach, and Danny and Karren Shambach, all of Middleburg.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill Street, Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 2, with Pastor Solomon Shaffer officiating.

Burial will be in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Middleburg.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Hospice of Evangelical for the care given Roger.
