WINFIELD Roger E. Culp, 81, of William Street, Winfield, passed away peacefully during his sleep, Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017.
Born Nov. 1, 1936, in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Charles E. Culp and Tillie M. (Kline) Culp. In June, he celebrated 49 years of marriage to Frances Culp.
He graduated from Lewisburg High School and then began his lustrous career as a self-employed truck driver where he spent more than 50 years doing what he loved most. He will always be remembered for his gold dump truck and his Sky Blue CB handle.
Roger was a member of the Army National Guard 1068th Transportation Company and belonged to the Selinsgrove Moose and Union Township Fire Company.
He was an avid hunter and looked forward to his yearly hunting trips out West with his son. When he wasn't maintaining his mistress (his truck), he enjoyed watching NASCAR and playing with his grandson. He especially looked forward to his daily breakfasts with "The Table of Knowledge".
He is survived by his wife, six children and their spouses, son, Michael and Barbara Culp, of New Columbia; daughters, Brenda and Glenn Folio, of Selinsgrove, Judy and Rick Wetzel, of Winfield, Joann and Dino Anskis, of Elysburg, Michelle Pyne, of Hagerstown, Md., and Faith and Charles Klinefelter, of Winfield. There are 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Surviving also is his sister, Carol Ford, of Selinsgrove.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold Culp; and a grandson, Cody Culp.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 801 Market St., Lewisburg. A private funeral will be arranged at the family's convenience.
