Roberta's Story

Roberta "Bobbi" A. Carr, 70, of Susquehanna Ave., Sunbury, passed away at her home on Sept. 16, 2017. She was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. on Nov. 14, 1946, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Alice (Wilt) Witmer. On April 13, 1986, she married Robert L. Carr who survives.
Bobbie attended West Snyder schools.
She was employed as a secretary for Wackins Trucking Co., Philadelphia and for Middleburg Yarn. She clerked for Turkey Hill in Sunbury until her retirement.
Bobbie enjoyed traveling, going to the beach at the ocean, working her flower gardens, decorating her home, cooking, baking, and creating her arts and crafts.
Bobbie is survived by her husband; son, Jon Brubaker, of Sunbury; two sisters, Kathy Martin, of Middleburg, and Johanna and Don Herman, of Wilmington, Del.; two brothers, John Witmer, of Beaver Springs, and James and Deb Witmer, of Middleburg and six nieces.
Bobbie was preceded in death by one sister, Mary "Dutch" Hummel.
Friends and family my visit the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, followed by a celebration of life at 11.
Interment will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or for disabled veterans.
