Robert J. Zechman Sr., 97, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Oct. 31, 1920, in Milton, a son of the late Charles and Edna (Askey) Zechman. He was married to the former Gladys Klingman for 51 years until her death in 1997.
Robert was a graduate of Milton High School. He served in the Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He retired from PP&L after 44 years of service.
Robert enjoyed tinkering on juke boxes, movie projectors and especially General Motors cars. He also collected movie posters.
He is survived by four children and their spouses, Robert J. Jr. and Tuyet Zechman of Winfield, Kenneth W. and Betty Zechman of Mifflinburg, Suzanne E. Lenig of Winfield, and Thomas E. Sr. and Gail Zechman of Milton; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Zechman; and one sister, Emily Showers.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
