Robert's Story

Robert K. Mull, 72, of Shamokin Dam, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at his home. Robert recently moved from Middleburg where he lived since 1993 with his wife of 50 years, Doris L. (Ryder) Mull, until her passing in 2015.
He was born Jan. 28, 1945, in Sunbury, a son of the late Edgar K. Mull Jr. and the late Betty I. (Straub) Mull.

After attending school in Middleburg, he and his wife moved to Selinsgrove for nearly 30 years before returning to Middleburg where they first met and later married on Christmas Eve 1964.
Robert served six years and earned the rank of Staff Seargant in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard until he was honorably discharged in 1969. He also worked for the Borough of Selinsgrove and most recently at the Selinsgrove Center for 27 years until he retired in 2002.
Robert was an EMT and life member of DH&L Ambulance League, Selinsgrove and served as a firefighter and fire chief at DH&L for many years from the mid 1960s to the late 1980s. He had also been a member of the Selinsgrove VFW, American Legion, and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge.

Robert is survived by one son, Brian K. Mull, of Hummels Wharf; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra M. and Scott Hornberger, of Middleburg, Christine L. Mull, of Shamokin Dam, and Penny L. and David Neidig, of Penfield, N.Y.; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Crolyn Mull, of Shamokin Dam, Steven and Susan Mull, of Selinsgrove, Rick and Charlotte Mull, of Halifax, and Scott and Celina Mull, of Sunbury; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Mike Nevin, of Herndon, Susan and Clifford Fegley, of Middleburg, Cathy and Greg Hafer, of Winfield, and Robin Mull, of Sunbury; five grandchildren, Nicholas A. Hornberger, Bethann L. Mull, Derrick A. Neidig, Alex J. Neidig, and Kyra L. Neidig; one great-granddaughter, Molly E. Heintzelman; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral at 11, at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, with the Rev. Robert Doll officiating.
Burial will be in Globe Mills Cemetery, Middleburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Robert's late wife Doris, may be made to Hospice of Evangelical, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
