Robert L. Davis


Robert L. Davis, 74, of Northumberland, entered into eternal rest on May 11, 2019, while he was a patient at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Sunbury, a son of the late Robert D. and Ethel F. (Frontz) Davis. On Dec. 25, 1964, he married the former Betty Furman who survives.

Following his graduation from Northumberland High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and had served from July 1962 to October 1966, and was a Vietnam War veteran.
Following his discharge from the Marine Corps, he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 (PA) and Local (Southern CA). After returning from California, he retired from Furman Foods where he was a forklift operator for years.
Robert was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the NRA. He was a member of the American Legion, Eureka Lodge No. 404, F&AM, A.A.S.R. of the Valley of Williamsport, and St. Mark Episcopal Church, Northumberland.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christiana Elliott and her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Laura, and their children, Devyn and Jackson; her daughters, Jordan and Annie and son, Joshua; two sisters, Emily A. Galindo (Dr. Jose), and Susan Ulick (Dr. Paul Stark); one niece, Mia; and two nephews, Joseph and Joshua.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert L. and Ethel D. Davis.

At Robert's request, there will be a private graveside service with military honors, with the Rev. Robert Reed VanDeusen presiding.

Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
