Robert E. "Bobby" Brouse, Jr., 55, Turbotville, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, while surrounded by his loved ones at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born May 17, 1962, in Lewisburg, a son of Eleanor E. (Trutt) Brouse, of New Columbia, and the late Robert E. Brouse Sr.
He was a 1980 graduate of Milton High School and was employed by ConAgra/Ryder Logistics of Milton for 30 years. He had a passion for farming, both in Union and Northumberland Counties, and enjoyed working with his hands with plumbing, woodworking, and engine repairs. He was a genuine handyman and could fix almost anything. He would always help a person in need.
He was a social member of the Watsontown American Legion; a former social member of Mifflinburg American Legion, and a former member of the Union County Sportsmen's Club.
Bobby enjoyed gardening, hunting, and spending time in his tree stand enjoying nature.
Surviving besides his mother are three sisters, Sherry (Arthur) Ricard, Mifflinburg, Sallie A. (Charles) Nissley, Turbotville, and Pamela M. Brouse, Harrisburg; his companion, Ann M. (Pfleegor) Mull, Turbotville, the daughter of John and Viola Pfleegor, and her children, Rebecca A. Rhodes, Milton, Christopher W. Mull, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Timothy A. Mull, Muncy, and Ann's grandchildren, Nathan and Derrick Mull and Morgan and Ethan Rhodes, and one granddaughter on the way; five nieces and nephews, Robert B. Showers, Mifflinburg, Susan R. Rishel, Lewisburg, Matthew R. Nissley, Mauritius, Laurie B. Erb, Milton, and Marcus R. Brouse, Harrisburg; eight great-nieces and nephews, and a great-nephew on the way; and his beloved dog, Sadie Skye.
Preceding him in death besides his father was a niece, Sarah A. Nissley.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life service to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10275 Route 44, Turbotville, with Pastor Justin Lingenfelter officiating. A visitation with the family will be held following the service in the social hall of the church.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In a final act of kindness Bobby gave the gift of sight through cornea donation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Bobby's memory be made to the Amercian Lung Association of PA, 3001 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
Bobby will be remembered for saying "we cannot fix what happened, we can only go forward."
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc, PC, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville.
