Robert Snook Bingaman, 94, of Lewisburg, formerly of Ridgeview Colony, Milton, entered into rest at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
He was born May 28, 1923, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Charles and Carrie (Snook) Bingaman. He married the former Eleanor K. Knepp on April 7, 1945, in Fort Braggs, N.C. She preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2008.
Robert was a 1941 graduate of Hartley Township High School. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre in the 11th Airborne.
He was employed as an equipment operator for Pennsylvania Power and Light for 38 years.
Robert was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Allen P. and Gloria Bingaman, of Corning, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Eric Bingaman and his wife Anna, of Florence, S.C., and Jason Bingaman, of Corning; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Kayla, Carson and Zachary; and one sister, Jeanie Hippensteihl, of Douglassville.
In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Velma Hassler.
A private graveside service will be held in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
