Richard L. Herman, 76, of Boothwyn, passed away peacefully at 12:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, while with his family.
Richard was a 1959 graduate of Chester High School. He obtained a bachelor of science degree in forest products from Pennsylvania State University. He was a long-time employee of the Scott Paper Company (now Kimberly-Clark Corporation) where he worked as an engineer. After retirement, he continued to remain active and worked at NVF, Our Lady of Angels Convent, and Pep Boys.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman who hunted, fished, and enjoyed nature his whole life. He was a passionate Penn State football fan and season ticket holder for more than 30 years. He attended countless games at Beaver Stadium as well as other events in State College and at the university. He is predeceased by his parents Carson and Kathryn (Platt) Herman.
Richard is survived by his children, Deborah (Kurt), Patricia (Steve), Kelly (Eric) Stump and Jason; sister, Carlene (Robert) Doud; grandchildren, Mitch and Nate Engleka, Andrew, Rachel, Katie and Alex Pak, Alexis and Zachary Stump.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at Northumberland Memorial Park.
