Richard Allen Bowman, 65, of Northumberland passed away on Jan. 9, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born July 3, 1953, in Sunbury, a son of the late Donald Roy and Mary Helen (Ackley) Bowman. On Aug. 17, 1974, he married the former Janice Rae Snyder who survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Michael Bowman and wife Stephanie, and Cole Bowman and fiancée Nicole Kowalski; granddaughters, Stella and Sloane Bowman; sister, Luana Moross; nephews, Matthew and Michael Eisenhower; mother-in-law, Alena Snyder; sisters-in-law, Joan (Jack Simpson) and Jacque (Clay Neidig) and sons, Sean and Evan; brother-in-law, James Snyder III and son, Willem.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Snyder Jr.

Richard graduated from Shikellamy High School in 1971 and Bloomsburg State College in 1975.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years in the accounting field.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Northumberland.
Throughout Richard's life, he enjoyed participating in various sports and supporting local teams. He was also a long time member of the Sunbury YMCA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Northumberland. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be held privately in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in memory of Richard to St. John's Lutheran Church, Northumberland, or a charity at the discretion of the donor.

Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
