Rayelene M. Saxton, 88, of Shamokin Dam, passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at UPMC Sunbury.
She was born in Yeagertown, a daughter of the late Ray and Lula Bressler.
Rayelene was employed for 22 years as a clerical aide at Monroe Township Elementary School, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Shamokin Dam where she sang in the choir. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
Rayelene is survived by three children, Cheryl Peterson, of Loudonville, N.Y., Richard Saxton Jr., of Shamokin Dam, and Dwight Saxton, of Selinsgrove; grandchildren, Lance Peterson, Derek Peterson, Brooks Peterson, Tasha Forker, Christina Wetzel and Ashley Walter; one sister, Martha Bowen; and one brother-in-law, Richard Dunn.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Dustin Saxton in 2002; her husband, Richard Saxton in 2004; two sisters, Peggy Hunter and Caroline Marinos; and one brother, Ray Bressler Jr.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11.
Interment will be decided by the family at a later date.
