Ray's Story

Ray Christopher Mitch, 86, of 2240 Johnstown Road, Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 9:36 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
He was born April 4, 1930, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Christopher and Mary Maude (Bruss) Mitch. In 1964, he married the former Nancy M. Hanselman who survives.

Ray was employed as a truck driver for Fulmer's Trucking, Hummels Wharf, and Narehood's Trucking, Washingtonville.
He was a member for more than 10 years and former president of the Union County Bench Rest Club, Weikert.
Ray enjoyed hunting, building rifles, truck driving, and walking his dog.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years, are one son, Ray C. Mitch Jr., of Mifflinburg; two daughters, Nancy I. Ulrich, of Montgomery, and Debra A. Hall, of Mifflinburg; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his dog, Ace, and cat, Puss.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Charles, and Abe; and four sisters, Oma Moyer, Mildred Fertig, Martha Morgan, and Mary Bingaman.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
