Ray C. Meckley 91, formerly of Potts Grove, passed away on May 19, 2018, at Milton Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born March 16, 1927, in Milton, a son of the late Robert and Laura (Machamer) Meckley. On June 5, 1966, he married the former Peggy Boyer who preceded him in death.
Ray graduated from Milton High School and served in the Navy during World War II.
He was employed as a machinist at ACF, Milton for 44 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of American Legion Post 71, Milton. Ray was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Potts Grove.
Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on small gas engines. He liked to attend family outings and the time spent with his family.
He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Carl Reish and Carol Keefer, all of Milton, Kathy and Rick Harris and Patti and Wayne Murray, all of Potts Grove; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Ray was preceded in death by one grandson, Mark Reish; three brothers, William, John, and Kenneth; and two sisters, Mildred Noaker and Mary Ellen Sekscienski.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Thomas Glasoe officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Harmony Cemetery.
