Ray's Story

Ray L. Benner, 70, of Dover, Del., passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1947, in Hummels Wharf, Pa., a son of Florence (Smith) Cellitti of Northumberland. He was married to the former Claire Doll who survives.

Ray was a graduate of Shikellamy High School and a veteran serving in the Navy.
Prior to moving to Dover, he had been employed as an IT specialist at International Paper, Lewisburg.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four children, Sandra Brown of Selinsgrove, Jeffrey Benner of Lewisburg, Michael Benner of Dover, and Chad Benner of Sunbury; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dianna Long of Delaware, and Carolyn McGlinn of Northumberland.

A private family viewing will be held from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Saturday at St. Monica's Catholic Church, Sunbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11.
Burial with military honors will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
