Phyllis E. Schreffler

February 21, 1931 - June 11, 2018

Phyllis E. Schreffler, 87, of Northumberland, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2018, at Grandview Nursing Home, Danville, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Selinsgrove, a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Groner) Vanbuskirk. On Nov. 10, 1950, she married John V. "Johnny" Schreffler who preceded her in death in 2015.

Phyllis was an accounts manager for Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland, where she was a member of the knitting club.
Phyllis enjoyed cooking, canning, bowling, traveling, and her cats. She loved her soap operas and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Scott R. and Bernice Schreffler of Danville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn J. and Terry Davenport of Cumming, Ga., Judy M. and Timothy Burk of Sunbury, and Connie M. and Bruce Johnson of Northumberland; nine grandchildren, Megan, Holly, Dana, Erik, Ryan, Sean, Jason, Kacie, and Jesse; four stepgrandchildren, John, Jenn, Janelle, and Julie; nine great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Christian, Aaden, Alexis, Avery, Logan, Tinsely, Macie, and Drezden; eight stepgreat-grandchildren, Madlyn, Elijah, Noah, Ellie, Isiah, Lilianna, Bennett, and Benjamin.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Carroll Jay Vanbuskirk.

Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Sixth St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at noon, with the Rev. Leslie Halchak officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Phyllis may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 4811 Jonestown Road, #230, Harrisburg, PA 17109.

Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland.
