Phyllis B. McCloud Phyllis B. McCloud, 84, of Middleburg, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
She was born March 1, 1935, in Middleburg, a daughter of the late Winfred and Kathryn (Snyder) Benner. On July 7, 1957, she married Franklin D. McCloud who survives.
Phyllis graduated from Middleburg High School with the class of 1953. After high school she attended Shippensburg State Teacher College where she graduated in 1957.
She was a school teacher, teaching in the Middleburg and Perry West Perry elementary schools, retiring in 1997.
She was an active member of the First UCC Church in Middleburg where she was a Sunday School teacher, active with the youth choir, and was the organist for more than 50 years. Phyllis was a member of the Snyder County Retired School Teachers, the Middleburg Area Retired Persons, and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ, reading, and going on bus trips.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, David W. McCloud, of Middleburg; one daughter and son-in-law, K. Lynn and Robert Rebuck, of Millersburg; two grandsons, Matthew and Mitchell Rebuck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Stuck.
Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, at the First UCC Church, 8671 US-522, Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 11 with Rev. Alice Rauch officiating.
Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Phyllis's memory can be made to the First UCC Church or any charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.

So sorry to hear Aunt Phil/Phyllis has passed away. Think of all the lives she touched in the classroom and at church and social activities! I am sure God said « « Well done, good and faithful servant » when she got to Heaven...we will all miss her.
