Phoebe's Story

Phoebe Ellen "Phebe" Reinard of Mount Pleasant Mills, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at her home.

Phoebe was born at home in Buckwheat Valley, Mount Pleasant Mills, a daughter of the late Frank A. and Phoebe Ellen (Kemrer) Portzline. She was married to Chester E. "Punk" Reinard who preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2009. The couple were married for 52 years at the time of his passing.

Phoebe attended Freeburg High School.
She was formerly employed at Benner's Shirt Factory, Mount Pleasant Mills and retired in 1996 after 30½ from Phillips Product's, Selinsgrove.
She was an active member and taught Sunday school at Arbogast's Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Mills, and a member of the Ladies of the Purple Heart.
Phoebe loved to do flower gardening, decorating her home, and traveling.

She is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by six brothers: Bobby "Bob" O. Portzline, Kenneth F. Portzline, Lester K. Portzline, Grover C. Portzline, Donald I. Portzline, and Michael E. Portzline, and a sister, Annie I. Fogle, two nephews, Roger K. Portzline and Samuel E. Portzline, and a niece, Jean E. Knouse.

Honoring the wishes of Phoebe there will be a closed casket visitation on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Rt. 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills. Officiating will be Rev. Lisa Raylene Barnes. Burial will be in Arbogast's Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Mills. Memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Phoebe to Arbogast's Lutheran Cemetery Association c/o Mrs. Sue Hoffman, 276 Arbogast Church Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.
