Paul's Story

Paul Steven Kratzer, 60, of Sunbury, entered into rest on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at his residence with his loving wife and family by his side. He had been in failing health since October.
He was born Dec. 17, 1956, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Ralph W. and Gladys M. (Catherman) Kratzer. On Nov. 28, 2006, he married Robin Ann Heckman who survives.

Paul, known as "Steve" to his family, was a 1977 graduate of Milton High School. Early in his life he enlisted into the Army and was honorably discharged in 1986 as a Staff Sergeant. He received many awards and medals during his enlistment including his Gold Recruiter Badge and his Recruiter Ring.
Paul was a jack of all trades, ranging from car salesman to working in the housing industry. He loved gardening with his wife, yard projects with his son, and fishing.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by one daughter and her companion, Kimberly Womer and Michael Marzocchi, of State College; one son and his fiance, Kevin Kratzer and Stephanie Benfer, of Sunbury; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Tara and David Boyer, of Beavertown; six grandchildren, Tionie Shambach, Karrisa Womer, Riley Womer, Anthony Kratzer, Bentley Boyer, and Brayden Boyer; one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Jim Young, of Lewisburg; two brothers and sister-in-laws, Craig Sr. and Judy Kratzer, of Martinsville, Ind., and Larry and Karen Kratzer, of Montgomery; one nephew and four nieces, Craig KratzerJr, Monica Terri, Kari Kratzer, Kelly Kratzer, and Chrissy Pick.
He was preceded in death by one nephew, Ricky Vickers.

At Paul's request there will be no viewing or funeral services. There will be a private celebration of life at the discretion of the family.
The family would like to thank Sun Home Hospice Care, of Northumberland, for their time and care.
