Paul D. Dobson, 80, of Sunbury passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
He was born June 2, 1937, in Sunbury, a son of the late Elwood and Carrie (Drumheller) Dobson. He was married to the former Iova Buffington who preceded him in death.
Paul was a graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School and served in the Army as a military policeman.
He was employed by the Butter Krust Bakery for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the Americus Hose Company, the Shikellamy Archery Club, and American Legion Post 201.
Paul was an avid bowler but most of all enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kerry and Karen Dobson, of Coal Township, and Kent and Kim Dobson, of Sunbury; one grandson, Justin; one great-grandchild, Morgan; one brother, Earl Dobson, of Sunbury; two sisters, Irene Heck, of Brooksville, Ohio and Carol Coleman, of Middletown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Douglas; and one sister, Ethel Wida.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11. Interment will be in St. Elias Reformed Cemetery, Lower Augusta Township.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations in Paul's memory to the Douglas Dobson Scholarship Fund, M & T Bank, Shamokin, PA 17872.
