Patricia L. Knoebel

May 23, 1936 - September 11, 2018

Patricia L. "Pat" Knoebel, 82, of Northumberland, formerly from Line Street in Sunbury, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Nottingham Village.

She was born May 23, 1936, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Wayne Reichenbach and Christabelle (Smith) Reichenbach Hoover. In 1955, she married John H. Knoebel Sr. who preceded her in death in July 2006. They were married for 50 joyous years.

Pat worked at Sunbury Community Hospital for several years, Hallmark gift shop, Weis Markets on Fourth Street, Frye's in Northumberland and Stefanie's restaurant in Selinsgrove. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sunbury.

Pat always enjoyed all of her wonderful neighbors on Line Street in Sunbury for more than 50 years and happily welcomed in any friends of her five children as if they were part of the family. The Knoebel house was known for being full of kids, family, friends and great meals. She loved to sit on her front porch swing visiting with the neighbors and attending her grandchildren's activities. It always made her happy to visit the beach and spend time in California visiting her daughter Lisa's family. For many years, she enjoyed dressing up at Halloween to treat the kids that came by the house.

Pat was a simple woman who enjoyed the many blessings of life, especially her beloved family and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, always putting her family first. For the four years she spent at Nottingham, she truly loved the staff and enjoyed joking around with them. They all knew Pat was a real character!

She is survived by one son, two daughters and their spouses: Diane Weir and husband Kenneth, of Shamokin Dam, Steven Knoebel and wife Susan, of Sunbury, and Lisa Zahm and husband Chip, of Canyon Country, Calif. A very proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren: Aaron and Ben Weir, Adam and Sydney Knoebel, Danielle Bronowicz and Jennifer Bonaventura, Angela Knoebel, Brooke Brumagin, Christie Kayal and Morgan Blood. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren: Jack and Hayden Weir, Olivia and Audrina Knoebel, Emma, Mya and Sarah Bronowicz, Ava and Julia Bonaventura, Jackson Baylor, Bowen and Aurora Brumagin, Lydia Kayal and Beckett Blood; as well as a brother, William Reichenbach; a sister-in-law, Mildred Knoebel, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, William "Bill" in 1988, and John "Harry" in July of this year; her sister, Kay Wallace; brother, Donald Reichenbach; and brother-in-law, Donald Knoebel. She will be dearly missed and remembered by many.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in Pomfret Manor Cemetery.
