Patricia J. Coxe, 84, a long-time resident of Susquehanna Road, Northumberland, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, at Nottingham Village.
Pat was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Plymouth, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Muroski) Fernandez. On Oct. 12, 1957, she married George F. Coxe who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2016.
She was a graduate of Plymouth High School and later graduated from nursing school. Mrs. Coxe gained employment as a registered nurse with Geisinger Medical Center, for many years at the Sunbury Community Hospital and later the Selinsgrove Center from where she retired.
Pat was a career woman with a family, but still found time to help others. She was also a great cook and enjoyed crafts.
She is survived by one son, Mark P. Coxe of Northumberland; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cheryl A. and Rick Zeeger of Prince Frederick, Md., Carol L. and William Elliott of Selinsgrove, and Leslie M. Kauffman and companion Bob Felmy of Northumberland; 10 grandchildren, Toby, Andrew, Corey, Colby, Bret, Joseph, Dylan, Sean, Kacey and Hayley; seven great-grandchildren, Abby, Alexa, Tyler, Rylee, Kane, Audrey and Issac; and her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Mason-Coxe of New York.
In addition to her parents and husband of 59 years, Pat was preceded in death by one son, George F. Coxe Jr.; and son-in-law, Todd R. Kauffman.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joan Dodson officiating.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
