Patricia K. Courtright of Sarasota, Fla., passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017, in the presence of her two loving daughters.
She was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Sunbury, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert and Josephine (Kupp) Keithan.

Pat attended Sunbury High School and then received her registered nursing degree from Temple University Hospital in 1953. She went on to practice nursing in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York and Florida, specializing in geriatric nursing as a charge nurse.
Pat married Dean W. Courtright on Feb. 6, 1955. They were married for 58 years. Their last move to Sarasota in 1973 brought them to the city they loved. They joined Pine Shores Presbyterian Church at that time and had been active members ever since. Pat was ordained as an Elder in 1986 while also serving on Session. Joining the staff at Pine Shores, she served for 16 years as Pastoral Care Visitor.
At Pine Shores over the years, Pat was involved in numerous programs, including acting as the Director of a woman's visitation group called the Butterflies. She initiated a hurricane home program; set up transportation for church members as needed; worked with the youth group; supervised the Mother's Day Out program, as well as the Greeters program and Home Communion.
Pat was a regular visitor to the residents at Bay Village. She participated for many years on the Health Care Board at Bay Village as well as the Health Care Board at Heartland and Housecall.
Pat was an avid piano player and played on her beloved piano for her entire life. Over the years, Dean and Pat traveled to many places. They loved dancing together, especially on cruise ships. Pat loved to garden and enjoyed nature in all its beauty. Kayaking on Sarasota Bay was a favorite activity they enjoyed doing together.

Pat's family includes her three children; Diane Prieur (Don), of Sarasota, Donna Foley (Kevin), of Charlotte, N.C., and David Courtright (Phanna), of Siem Reap, Cambodia. She is also survived by Donna and Kevin's three children and Diane and Don's two children and their three grandchildren. Patricia has three sisters, Joanne Smith, of South Williamsport, Pa., Margaret Peck (deceased), of Montoursville, Pa., and Barbara Kearney (George), of Naples, Fla.

A memorial service and reception will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 28, at Pine Shores Presbyterian Church, 6135 Beechwood Ave., Sarasota.

The family would like to thank the 5th floor nurses and staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the 2nd floor nurses and staff at Bay Village and Tidewell Hospice for the excellent care and kindness extended to our Mother.
