Neil R. Adams, 87, of Dalmatia, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 20, 2017, at Nottingham Village Nursing Center, Northumberland.
He was born in Lower Mahanoy Township on Dec. 19, 1930, a son of the late Elizabeth and Milton Adams. Neil was a farmer and drove truck driver for Mandata Poultry. He served in the Marines during the Korean War.
He attended Valley Bible Church, Lykens; the Bible Institute of New England; and was in the first graduating class of Mahanoy Joint in 1949.
Neil is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret "Peggy" Adams; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Adams of Illinois, Nellie Adams of North Carolina; nephews, Donald, Dwight and Larry Adams; nieces, Sharon Comes and Dianne Richard along with several other nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Henry and wife Lena Adams, John Adams, Albert and wife Marian Adams, Paul Adams, David and wife Doloras Adams; and sisters, Lillian Adams, Anna Adams, and Selma and husband Donald Engelhardt.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Community Church, Herndon, followed by the funeral at 11.
Interment will take place in County Line Cemetery, Dalmatia.
