Myrtle E. Wagner, 96, formerly of Vincent Avenue, Watsontown, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Evangelical Community Hospital. She had been residing at Milton Health and Rehab for the past few years.
Born Dec. 13, 1921, in Balls Mills, Lycoming County, she was the daughter of the late Leveritt Earl and Myrtle (Hyde) Bower. She was married to Carl F. Wagner Jr. who preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1986.
Myrtle was a graduate of Eastern Pilgrim College in Allentown and a devoted homemaker.
She was a very active volunteer with the Watsontown Alliance Church, where she had attended church earlier in life.
Surviving are three sons, Donald "Tim" Wagner, of Danville, Larry J. Wagner, of Milton, and Wesley E. Wagner and his wife Maureen, of Strasburg; six grandchildren, Mark Wagner, Larry J. Wagner II, Misty Betz, Alexandra and Evan Wagner, and Wendy Paul; several great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and two sisters, Pauline Wallace, of Florida and Virginia McGrenra, of Massachusettes.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were her brother, Earl Duane Bower; three sisters, Inez Finch, Cleda Kurtz, and Wanda Irene McKee; and a daughter-in-law, Sandy Wagner.
Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Fountain Hill Cemetery, Fountain Hill, Lehigh County.
