Mary C. Maust, 88, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Selinsgrove, a daughter of the late Samuel D. and Dora Blanche (Rambo) Wildt.
On Aug. 31, 1947, she married Robert W. Maust Jr., who preceded her in death May 22, 1989.
Mary was a 1947 graduate of Selinsgrove High School, where she was captain of the cheerleading squad in her junior and senior years. Earlier in her life, she had been employed as a waitress at area restaurants, and later was employed at the Selinsgrove Center, where she was a switchboard operator. In 1958, her husband established the R.W. Maust Jr. garage in Selinsgrove. From that point, until the present, she was active in the operation of the business.
She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Selinsgrove. Mary was an excellent cook and baker, and a racing fan. She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, needlepoint, and reading. She also enjoyed dining out with friends and her companion, Harry Kuster.
Mary will be remembered for always thinking of others first, and always having a smile on her face.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott R. and Gloria Maust, and Gary E. and Judy Maust, both of Selinsgrove; two grandsons and their wives, Christopher and Anette Maust, and Steven and Heidi Maust; two step-grandchildren, Tamie Dunbar, and Jamie Sheetz; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Garrett Maust, and Seth, who's expected soon; two step-great-grandchildren, Brittany and Emily Sheetz; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Wildt; and six nieces and nephews, Marilyn Stauffer, Lynn Gilbert, Lance Hunsinger, Dennis Wildt, Pamela Hoke, and Lana Woodling.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jay, in infancy; one brother, Neil Wildt; and one sister, Anita Hunsinger.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11, with Rev. Kristina Schaeffer officiating.
Burial will be in the new Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
