Mary Evelyn Kuprevich Mary "Evelyn" Kuprevich, 94, of Danville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village in Lewisburg.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre; the eldest daughter of Patrick and Mary (Petscavage) Clune. She was married to William Joseph Kuprevich, of Freelend, on Aug. 12, 1944. They were married for 46 loving years until his passing in 1991.

Evelyn was a 1941 graduate of Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre and a 1944 graduate of Danville State Hospital School of Nursing. Later, she was a 1978 graduate of Bloomsburg University, earning a bachelor of science in nursing. Throughout her life, she worked at Danville State Hospital as a registered nurse serving as the night shift supervisor, the Selinsgrove State School as directress of nursing, and at Geisinger Medical Center as a registered nurse in oncology.

She held various leadership and president roles in local organizations such as: PARSE, Danville Happy Joe's, AARP, special minister of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Boy and Girl Scout leader, and 4-H leader of the Danville Eager Beavers. She also took on several volunteer roles with: The American Red Cross (Bloomsburg Fair volunteer), Children's Miracle Network volunteer through Geisinger Medical Center, Ronald McDonald House volunteer, and in the Catholic Deaneries Northern Region as a project head chairman. She was also a member of the Women's Club of Danville, Rambler's Club, and a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church of Danville (70 years).

Evelyn enjoyed traveling, collecting sea shells, and going on ocean cruises. She also enjoyed clamming, playing pinochle, and scrabble; but above all else, loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rita "Shirley" Bolton.

She is survived by two sons, William and wife Barbara Kuprevich, of Bloomsburg and John and wife Carol Kuprevich, of Kennett Square; one daughter, Deborah and husband Gary Zimmerman, of Danville; eight grandchildren, Haydn, Sean, John, Ben, Tascha, Alena, Todd and Toni; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, 18 E. Center St., Danville, with pastor Parochial Vicar Rev. Ignatius Madumere, OP celebrating Mass. Friends may visit at St. Hubert's Chapel (located in the annex of the church) from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery, 324 Ridge St, Freeland.

The family will provide flowers.
