Mary's Story

Mary E. Hoover, 91, formerly of Fairview Avenue, Milton, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Watsontown Health and Rehab Center.

She was born Dec. 10, 1924, in New Columbia, a daughter of the late Samuel and Nettie (Fisher) French. She was married to Willard Hoover Sr. until his death in 2011.

Mary attended Milton schools and had retired from JPM in Lewisburg in 1991.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Milton.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Willard Jr. and Cathy Hoover, of Milton, Lee and Jacque Hoover, of New Columbia, and William and Penny Hoover, of Milton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Grace and Toby Hubler, of Milton and Carol and Thomas Sheets Sr., of New Columbia; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Hubler; and four brothers, Robert Fisher, Kenneth Fisher, Paul French, and Lee French.

Friends and relatives will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 100 Mahoning St., Milton, followed by the funeral at noon with the Rev. James H. Fladland officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.

Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the Abiding Memorial Fund of the Trinity Lutheran Church, 100 Mahoning St., Milton, PA 17847.
