Martha G. Martin, 93, of Port Trevorton, died on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the home of her daughter's, Catherine Martin, where she resided.
She was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Union Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Phares O. and Lizzie (Gehman) Stauffer. She was the wife of Ira S. Martin who preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2010.
She formerly attended Phares O. Stauffer's Old Order Mennonite Church-Union Township.
Martha is survived by her 11 children, Catherine Martin of Port Trevorton, John Martin husband of Janice of Port Trevorton, James Martin husband of Sally of Lobelville, Tenn., Margaret Martin wife of Calvin of Port Trevorton, Robert Martin husband of Nancy of McAlisterville, Marie Weaver of Port Trevorton, Thomas Martin husband of Linda of Selinsgrove, Dorothy Haldeman wife of Harvey of Rutledge, Mo., Mildred Weaver wife of Elam of Port Trevorton, Harvey Martin husband of Susan of Port Trevorton, and Marian Martin wife of David of Port Trevorton; 67 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Stauffer; one sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Walter Stauffer; three sisters-in-law, Catherine Stauffer, Erma Stauffer, and Alice Stauffer; a brother-in-law, Ray Good; and many nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by one daughter, Annetta S. Martin; one son-in-law, Allen M. Weaver; four grandsons, Timothy J. Martin, Shannon L. Martin, Kent T. Martin in infancy, and Lee A. Martin; three brothers, Titus Stauffer, Phares Stauffer, and John Stauffer; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Anna Mary and Paul Good and Ida Good; and one sister-in-law, Reba Stauffer.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Marie Weaver, 414 Paradise Church Road, Port Trevorton. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at the home of her daughter with further services at 1 p.m. at Stauffer's Old Order Mennonite Church-Verdilla District.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Officiating will be the Ministry of County Line Mennonite Church of Mount Pleasant Mills.
The George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills have been entrusted with the arrangements.
