Marlin R. "Skip" Reese, 82, of Route 54, Watsontown, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at his home.
He was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Danville, a son of the late Cleon and Helen M. (Laidacker) Reese. He was married to the former Esther Appleman on October 18, 1952 and they celebrated 59 years of marriage until her death Oct. 19, 2011.
Skip was a 1951 graduate of Watsontown High School and retired from Chef-Boyardee's, Milton where he had worked for 26 years.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville for more than 50 years.
Skip enjoyed watching NASCAR, NFL football, and baseball games.
He is survived by one stepson, James Appleman, and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Turbotville; one brother, Lawrence P. Reese, of Watsontown; one sister, JoAnn Delaney, of Watsontown; two stepgrandchildren, Timothy and Joel Appleman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Monroe Reese on June 9, 2007.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, followed by the funeral at 11 with Chaplain Bob Barner of Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice, officiating.
Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions in his memory be made to Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave., Ste. 200, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
