Margaret "Maggie" Hoffman, 72, of Sunbury, passed peacefully into rest on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center.
She was born in Sunbury on June 13, 1945, the daughter of the late George and Bernadette (Kurtz) Dane. She married Karl Hoffman in the summer of 1965.
Maggie attended Shikellamy High School. After high school she worked in many fields, but received the most joy from being a house wife and taking care of her family.
Maggie enjoyed many hobbies including shopping, crafting and cooking for her family. More than anything else, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, and helping others whenever she could.
She is survived by her husband, Karl A. Hoffman; her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Karl Hoffman Jr. and Rhonda Hoffman of Winfield, and Kevin Hoffman of Sunbury; two grandchildren Olivia and Owen Hoffman of Winfield; one brother, Geroge Dane of Sunbury; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Christine Shankin and Rick Shankin of Saint James City Fla., Bernadette Hollenbach of Sunbury; her beloved dog Bear, and her grand-dog Gracie; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St, Sunbury, followed by a memorial service at 6.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
