Mardean R. Napp


Mardean R. Napp, 82, of Penns Creek, passed away surrounded by his family at the home he was born in on Saturday, July 6, 2019.
He was born on April 6, 1937 in Penns Creek, a son of the late Ernest and Mildred (Musser) Napp. He was married to the former Connie F. Kerstetter who survives. The couple were married for 59 years at the time of his passing.

Mardean was a 1955 graduate of Middleburg Joint High School and served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
He retired in 1999 from North Star Steel.
He was a member of the former United Church of Christ, Penns Creek.
Mardean enjoyed golfing and hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Jessica Napp of Middleburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Matthew Carson of Danville; four grandchildren, Sophia and Josilyn Napp and Jillian and Jason Carson; one sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Richard Myers of Florida; brother-in-law, Donald Kerstetter of Mifflinburg; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Wert and Pat Unger, both of Mifflinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mardean was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Leigh Napp; and three sisters, Twila Colson, Dorothy and Laura in infancy.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Corey Mitchell of Winfield Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Penns Creek Union Cemetery, Penns Creek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Mardean to Hospice of Evangelical, 235 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Harrisburg Office, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
