Lucille C. Moyer, 88, a lifelong resident of Northumberland, passed away early Sunday morning, Oct. 1, 2017, at her home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Elmer J. and Olive C. (Row) Moyer. On Aug. 26, 1950, she married Robert E. Moyer who preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 2011.
She attended Northumberland schools.
Lucille was employed by Champ Hats and later was a homemaker.
She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland where she was an advisor to the youth fellowship, taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years, and also provided transportation to those in need. She was also very active at the Northumberland/Point Township Senior Action Center.
Lucille had a passion for cleaning and cleanliness. If she ever did sit down she could be found reading or talking to friends on the telephone.
She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Carol A. Moyer, of Northumberland; one sister, Jean L. Peters, of Northumberland; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Carson P. and Ann M. Moyer, of Harrisburg and Lorraine Moyer, of Northumberland; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband of 61 years, Lucille was preceded in death by six brothers, Warren E., Marvin R., Dale R., Robert M. and James E. Moyer and John Moyer in infancy; and one sister, Esther J. Sulouff.
Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Sixth St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Leslie Halchak officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
Contributions in Lucille's memory may be made to her church.
