Louise's Story

Louise E. Moore, 83, of Lone Oak Lane, Watsontown, passed away in her sleep surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017.
She was born March 6, 1933, in West Milton, a daughter of the late John and Alice (Jones) Hollenbach. On Sept. 29, 1950, she married James Lowrie Moore Jr. and they have celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Louise retired from the Warrior Run School District in 1988 where she had been employed for 20 years as a secretary in the guidance office.
She was fond of 57 Chevy's and was a member of Town & Country Cruisers car club and MAFTA, Washingtonville. She enjoyed camping at Nittany Mountain Campground with her family for many years, antiquing, crocheting, counted cross-stitch, word puzzles, and was an avid reader.
Louise was a mom to many and will always be remembered for her kindness and her strength.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel L. and Kathy Moore, of Pittsburgh, and Keith E. and Lori Moore, of Watsontown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Marie and Gary Gauger and Lisa K. and Ron Runkle, all of Watsontown; eight grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Nathan Wertz, Allison and her husband Keith McNeal, Rachel, Samantha, and Jacob Moore, Kristen and Joshua Gauger, and Kevin Runkle; one great-grandson, Austin McNeal; one brother, Thomas R. Hollenbach, of Washington, D.C.; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Ray Leeser, of Milton and Ruth Ann and Jack Miller, of Montandon.
She was preceded in death by one son, James L. Moore III in 1981.

Friends and family are invited to call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 401 Main St., Watsontown, followed by the funeral at noon with the Rev. Paul A. Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Louise's memory be made to her church or to Montgomery House Library, P.O. Box 5, McEwensville, PA 17749.
