Lois A. Thomas, 80, of Sunbury, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
She was born Dec. 21, 1937, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Holden and Catherine (Mowery) Shoop. She was married to Paul I. Thomas who preceded her in death.
Lois was a 1955 graduate of Sunbury High School.
She worked most recently as an administrative assistant for the Sunbury Housing Authority until her retirement in 2011.
Lois was a faithful member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, R.R. 5, Selinsgrove.
Her door was always open for visitors and those who needed a listening ear, and she loved telling very animated stories about her life. Lois was deeply devoted to her family, and her happiest times were spent with her granddaughters, and great-granddaughter.
She is survived by one daughter, Julie A. Thomas, of Sunbury; three granddaughters, Ashley R. Thomas, and fiance, Barry E. Heller Jr., both of Sunbury, Brooke A. (Thomas) Landis and her husband Ryan, of Milton, and Erica M. Thomas, of Sunbury; and one great-granddaughter, Makenzie R. Landis, of Milton.
She was preceded in death by one son, David A. Thomas.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Christ Community Methodist Church, Selinsgrove, followed by a memorial service at 11. A meal will follow the service.
