Linda K. Powell, 78 of North Pine Street, Pillow, formerly of Strawbridge Road, Northumberland, is now free of pain and dancing with the angels when she passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Jan. 23, 1939, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late William Bright and Dorothy (Shellenberger) Eisenhower and stepfather, John Eisenhower. On Aug. 6, 1965, she married Joseph A. Powell who survives.
Linda was a 1956 graduate of Sunbury High School.
She was employed with First National Bank and later retired from Central Credit Audit, both of Sunbury.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lewisburg.
Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed watching television and old movies. She loved to cook and bake especially while entertaining her family around the holidays, particularly Christmas time. She was a great bowler, playing in leagues. While traveling with her First National Bank Bowling League, Linda developed her joy for traveling. She later became a world traveler with destinations including Ireland, Scotland, Bora Bora, and many others. Linda was a very thoughtful, loving and giving person who will be greatly missed. Her love carried over to the care and concern for animals, particularly cats.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, Linda is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda M. and Paul N. Fuller, of Northumberland, and Kristi J. Rhine, of Pillow; two grandchildren, Kyle J. Weir, of Sunbury, and Amber K. and Justin D. Wendt, of Northumberland; three great-grandchildren, Chelsea R. Weir, of Penns Creek, Mykenzie R. Tapper, of Pillow, Bryce A. Wendt, of Northumberland; one sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Gene Woomer, of Harrisburg; and one brother and sister-in-law, John and Beverly Eisenhower, of Northumberland.
She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Timothy M. Rhine.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 11, with Dominic Herbst officiating.
Private burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Pillow.
