Leslie Jean Sholly

June 11, 2018

Leslie Jean Sholly of Limestoneville passed on June 11, 2018 in her home with her family at her side.
Born Leslie Jean Koch, a daughter of Marilyn and Owen Koch of Milton. She married Wayne E. Sholly Sr. on Aug. 24, 1963, they came close to 48 years of marriage until Wayne passed in February of 2011. She was looking forward to 'going home' to be reunited with her loved ones.

Whichever name you knew her by, Leslie or Jean, you knew a very special person who deeply cared and loved unconditionally. Her most pride in joy were her grandchildren, not one visit with her would go without her bragging about one of them. She cherished her friends, enjoyed her many visits, reminiscing and lots of laughter and a few tears.

She was a member of the Beaver Run Mennonite Church. She was the corresponding secretary and served on various committees. She also volunteered for Love INC.

Leslie had many interests, as time would pass and she could no longer enjoy one thing she did another. Music brought true joy to her, in fact, she was listening to music from the 50s her last few days. She had quite the collection of music, especially Christmas music. She was a seamstress, having made a lot of her own clothes; she even made her daughter a wedding dress. Leslie liked painting ceramics, needlepoint, card making and scrapbooking. And, she was an avid reader. Leslie also liked playing cards and her favorite board game was Parcheesi. She so enjoyed playing and teaching her children and grandchildren her games and teased with each win or loss.

Leslie Jean was of the Milton High School Class of 1961. She worked as a laborer in several factories in the area including the Shoe Factory, Montgomery Mills, Zenith and JPM. Making and keeping friends, from classmates to co-workers.

She left behind two sons, Wayne E. Sholly of Selinsgrove, and Terry S. Sholly of Frankfort, Ind.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Mike McManus of Limestoneville, Kelly and Bill Renninger of Milton, and Nicole and Brad Cole of Hughesville; 10 grandchildren, Brittany and her husband Eric Lerch of Indianapolis, Ind., Breanna Sholly and Brandi Sholly both of Frankfort, Ind., Cody Renninger and his fiancé Chelynn Bingaman of Millmont, Dakota Cole and his girlfriend Katelin Bedosky of Mifflinburg, Leslie McManus and her fiancé Michael Porter of Limestoneville, Ethan Renninger and his girlfriend Cera Blunk of Limestoneville, Owen McManus of Limestoneville, Peyton Cole of Hughesville, and Ryleigh Cole of Hughesville; nine great- grandchildren with one on the way; her niece whom she considered her "first daughter", Debbie and her husband Sam Haulman of West Milton, and many other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Owen R. and Michael R. Koch; and her beloved sister, Kay M. Hoffman whom she missed dearly.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Beaver Run Mennonite Church, 327 County Line Road, Turbotville, followed by the funeral at 11.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville.
